Payroll Taxes

All employers are required by law to pay and deduct specific taxes from each employee’s payroll check. Taxes vary depending on what state or category the business falls under. Some deductions are completely employee paid, but others are paid by the employer either in the form of a “matching” payment or in the form of a tax that the employee does not see itemized on his / her check. Depending on the employer’s business location, they are sometimes subject to state taxes.
