| State Unemployment - SUTA The state unemployment tax (SUTA) is part of the state fund that makes unemployment compensation to employees who have lost their jobs. As with the FUTA, this tax is not paid by the employee and they will not see this deduction on their paycheck. Like the FUTA, the employer is required to pay this tax to fund a portion of the employee’s unemployment compensation that is discharged from its company. |
