| Tuition Reimbursement Tuition reimbursement comes in many shapes and sizes. Some employers reimburse employees for the full or partial amount of their tuition and books based upon their grades. Some pay for a flat amount per class and some pay a specified portion if the employee receives a certain grade or higher. Regardless of the amount, any reimbursement is a great benefit and employees should use it to their own and the company’s advantage. There are a number of rules that usually go with this benefit which may or may not involve a maximum amount the employee can receive, specificity of the class in relation to the job, and length of time an employee must stay with the company to avoid paying the reimbursement back to the company. Since a lot of employers require a degree, an employee can not lose by taking advantage of this incentive to work hard and advance. The employer is in turn not only giving the employee a chance at promotion within its company but is paying for the training and degree that is required for the advancement. Employees that take their employers up on this offer are smart to get their education paid for, either fully or partially as many who have started out in positions and already have degrees are burdened with never-ending student loans. |
